Building on Current Knowledge


This annual conference emphasises the links between contemporary high quality research and small firms policy development and implementation by attracting delegates from academia, the Small Business Service, Learning and Skills Councils, Enterprise Agencies,

TECs and LECs, training providers, support agencies and government. Building upon its informal atmosphere, which promotes informed, topical debate and exchange amongst delegates, the conference identifies macro and micro policy implications and recommendations. Principal themes for the 2001 conference are:-

Contributions which address these issues will focus upon the reality of leading, managing and supporting enterprising individuals and enterprising organisations. Papers should generate new insights.

The conference fee for this two day residential conference includes a subscription to volume 8 of the Journal of Small Business and Enterprise Development. A reduced rate is available for students.

Full refereed track papers and abstracts for working papers should be submitted for evaluation by 6th October 2000. Refereed track papers should be approximately 5000 words and should be submitted in the standard publication format for the Journal of Small Business and Enterprise Development. Abstracts for working papers should be approximately 500 words and should outline aims, research methodology, findings, principal managerial and policy implications and recommendations.

Accepted final refereed track and working papers must be submitted by 23rd February 2001 to be included in the conference.

All conference presenters must register for the conference.
